ENDORECEPTORS WITH CONVERGENT PHENANTHROLINE UNITS - A MOLECULAR CAVITY FOR 6 GUEST MOLECULES
Academic Article
Publication Date:
1991
abstract:
Three docking sites ensure that six guests jostle in the cavity of a new endo receptor. Three phenanthroline molecules are brought into close proximity by coordination of each with a Cu(I) ion. In the FAB mass spectrometer the host complete with all six guests exists as the molecular supercomplex 1. Three bulky guest molecules are not "invited" simultaneously (R = CH3, p-C6H4CH3; R' = H) because of the limited space in the cavity.
