La necropoli di Poggio Montano: un sito di frontiera nell'Etruria interna

The research undertaken in this study thoroughly analyzes the necropolis of Poggio Montano, related to a smaller yet rich and organized community settled in the heart of inner Etruria. This community flourished between the advanced horizon of the early Iron Age and the Orientalizing period. The complex holds significance as it provides substantial and notably isolated documentation of the final phase of the Iron Age in an internal center of southern Etruria, in an area privileged for contacts between the Campanian and Bolognese regions. This period immediately follows the establishment of urban realities, witnessing the emergence and complex development of aristocratic society, traditionally referred to as an evolved Villanovan period.
