Flussi turistici e pubblico museale: un tentativo di approccio analitico

The paper concerns the italian museums visitors trend during the last decades, in relation to the tourist arrivals from abroad. The analysis focusses on the period between 1990 and 1995, when a decrease and a subsequent growth of total museum visitors (due to different reasons) led to a change in composition of such a public. The analysis demonstrates that, since the mid 90s up to our days, the variation in museum public is strictly related to the tourist from outside Italy, and draws up possible actions to face the situation for the next years.
