Reinforcement effect of multi-walled carbon nanotube in sonicated monocomponent epoxy matrix

abstract:
This work analyses the effect of multi-walled carbon nanotube content on bending modulus of an aeronautical epoxy matrix. High energy sonication was chosen among the other techniques to disperse the nanotube loading. Final results indicate that reinforcement efficiency is maximised below the statistical percolation threshold, whereas it dramatically decreases above this limit.
