Middleware Services for Pervasive Monitoring Elderly and Ill People in Smart Environments

Ambient Intelligence technologies are going to be used more and more frequently to realize Ambient Assisted Living applications to support elderly and ill people at their home. This paper presents a software infrastructure that enables the rapid prototyping of smart applications for monitoring patients in environments like homes or hospitals. The paper also describes an application built upon such a software infrastructure for patients with cardiac problems.
