Facing the increasing need by municipalities to have information on their health conditions, ISTAT data allow for updated and important information to highlight any critical issues or to mitigate high risk perceptions. In this work, an analysis was carried out with ISTAT data at 2016 for the city of Taranto (official data stuck at 2013) and the city of Lecce (official data stuck at 2009). In Taranto, mortality remains higher for almost all causes compared to the regional reference. For Lecce, the mortality is lower than the regional reference, although there is an excess mortality from cancer among women.
