abstract:
One of the main problems of closed-cycle adsorption systems, that represent an attractive alternative to conventional electrically driven systems, is the low heat transfer efficiency between the solid adsorbent material in contact with the heat exchanger and the heat transfer fluid [1]. Nevertheless, the heat transfer efficiency can be improved covering the heat exchangers with adsorbent material rather than employing packed adsorbent beds [2].
Aim of the present paper is the evaluation of the performance of coatings made up with zeolite crystals and silane matrices, characterized by different functional groups. The composite coatings have been evaluated in terms of wettability, morphology, adsorption properties and mechanical behaviour.
