abstract:
Technology transfer to SMEs is the ultimate challenge of the forthcoming years. In fact, the technological growth and the skill development of SMEs don't meet the quite high development rate of designing and manufacturing techniques/tools. In this view, the paper focuses on the approaches to be followed in order to increase technology transfer effectiveness and to make relevant costs affordable by SMEs.
The two case studies presented evidence the extent to which the methodology adopted in formulating and solving technical problems may contribute to promote and facilitate the technology transfer, thus bridging the gap between research and industry. To this aim. Public Research Bodies are demanded lo play a fundamental role in emphasizing their technology transfer vocation.
