THE IMPACT OF NOISE EXPOSURE ON CITIZEN HEALTH IN SOME TUSCANY CITIES: WHAT DALY CAN SUGGEST TO LOCAL ADMINISTRATORS
Conference Paper
Publication Date:

abstract:
Noise mapping according to the Directive 49/2002/EC has been the occasion to collect more homogeneous data on noise exposure levels produced by transportation infrastructures in big cities. Among the various descriptors quantifying noise effects on health, the DALY (Disability Adjusted Life Years) is a very useful indicator providing an easy way to assess both the impact of noise and the benefits of implementing action plans to reduce the exposure.
