Spectral irradiance measurements and therapeutic effectiveness evaluation of ultraviolet sources used in phototherapy
Academic Article
Publication Date:

abstract:
We measured the spectral irradiance, in the range 250-400 nm, emitted by two PUVA units and two UV-B lamps fur phototherapy. The evaluation of the total irradiance in the UV-C, UV-B and W-A regions provides a measure of the dose to patients. Moreover, in order to check their therapeutic effectiveness, wr measured the uniformity of exposure in the whole body PUVA cabins and the Phototherapy Indices for W-B lamps.
