abstract:
Acoustic materials of vegetable origin can be a good alternative to traditional ones both
from the technical and environmental point of view but very few of them are technologically
mature enough to be commercialized. The present paper reports a state of the art of this family
of materials, providing the acoustic characteristics starting from the most widespread and
promising products to the unconventional ones. These products are realized using the residuals
of the cultivation process or of the processing industry so their environmental impact is very
low, if the raw materials are local and are not in contrast with food crops.
