The application of technology to the recognition and production of basic emotions in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Academic Article
Publication Date:
2020
abstract:
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD; APA, 2013) have difficulties with emotion recognition and expression, as a part of the wider deficit of the Theory of Mind (Marchetti, Castelli, Cavalli, Di Terlizzi, Lecciso, Lucchini et al., 2014). Early detection of ASD (Lecciso, Levante, Signore, & Petrocchi, 2019) and intervention are quite important aspects. This research study focuses on the development of emotion recognition through the use of a humanoid robot.
