Natural gas composition

Chapter
Publication Date:
2018
abstract:
In recent years, the demand for natural gas as a more efficient and cleaner fuel has increased. However, it is estimated that over 2% of CO2 is contained in every 50% of the volume of known gas resources, which has led to an increase in research needs in the gas softening process (Maisarah Bt Mohamad et al., 2016; Scholes C.A. et al., 2012). Current existing technologies reported for CO2 removal include thermal oscillation, pressure oscillation and displacement desorption by adsorption, membrane and cryogenic method (Mirfendereski M. et al., 2008). Among these technologies, the membrane offers significant advantages over the others.
