Un sistema previsionale per il monitoraggio dell 'erosione costiera

A system to forecast coastal hydrodynamics is presented, which includes two main system components for meteorology, hydrodynamics and wave propagation at larger scales (offshore component) and wave transformation, littoral currents and morphodynamics at costal scales (nearshore components). Near real time meteo, wave and current data are ingested into the nearshore component to support coastal monitoring actions. A short description of a new model for irregular wave propagation in coastal areas under the combined effect of reflection, diffraction and breaking is also described .
