Volatile organic compound emissions in relation to plant carbon fixation and the terrestrial carbon budget

The fraction of assimilated carbon released by plant species as VOC has been evaluated through experimental data collected at branch and ecosystem levels in variuos tropspheric sites around the world. Data seem to suggest that real values are smaller tha present estimates.
