The magmatic evolution of Ordovician metagranitoids of the Serie dei Laghi (southern Alps): inferences from petrological, geochemical, and Sr and Nd isotope data

Granitoid rocks belonging to an Ordovician magmatic cycle are present in many areas of the European Paleozoic basement. Calcalkaline intrusive rocks attributed to this cycle occur in the central-western segment of the Alpine arc (Serie dei Laghi). Hercynian amphibolite facies regional metamorphism affected the Serie dei Laghi basement. This paper examines the petrogenesis of the Ordovician intrusives of the Serie dei Laghi, using mineral chemistry, major and trace elements, REE, and isotope geochemistry (Sr and Nd). -from Authors
