Abstract:
Tissue electrical impedance measurements have been performed in consenting volunteers exposed to clinical diathermy, in order to estimate tissue thermally evoked hyperaemia. Results, in 23 upper arm cases and 12 neck cases, show significant tissue admittance variations suggesting that hyperaemia is sustained by long-lasting physiological mechanisms.
