Gate ottico a cristallo liquido su silicio microlavorato ad alto rapporto di estinzione

We report the fabrication steps and the preliminary electro-optical characterization of a novel integrated liquid crystal optical waveguide switch on a silica on silicon substrate, which exhibits an extinction ratio higher than 40 dB.
