Arretramento della linea di riva e rimozione delle banquette di Posidonia oceanica nella spiaggia di Paragan (Corsica meridionale)

The relationships between the removal of Posidonia oceanica banquette and shoreline retreat was analysed in the bay of Paragan, a pocket beach located in south Corsica. The morphological and sedimentological features of the beach have been compared with another pocket beach, the Pisciucani beach, located in the same sector, with similar characteristics. The results of the study showed that banquette removal in the beach of Paragan caused a retreat of the shoreline evaluated in 10-15 m, probably due to the variation of cross-shore beach profile toward more dissipative conditions.
