abstract:
Climate affects both production and reproduction in all farm animals
The low summer fertility is associated with high temperature
Actual fertility levels are the results of the combination of genetic potential and environmental factors including temperature, nutrition, health and cow and bull management
Heat stress (HS) significantly impairs bull fertility. After a period of HS semen quality does not return to standard quality for approximatly 2 months because of the length of the spermatic cycle.
