A Digital Scholarly Edition of Medieval Documents on Monasterium.net: Santa Maria della Grotta (1200-1250)

The edition of the documents of Santa Maria della Grotta near Benevento (1200-1250) had two goals. Firstly, the creation of a dynamic digital edition with Monasterium.net (also the pilot test of the user-friendly editor EditMOM3), and secondly, the creation of a paper-like output in pdf, in other words, a stable version. From the technical point of view, the digital edition adopts XML-Encoding following the standard of the Charters Encoding Initiative (CEI) to ensure generality and usability, while the especially developed transformation program performs a XSL-FO conversion of the XML and is transformed into a pdf (in print) with the help of an XSL-FO processor. The result is a collaborative edition and a use case for the "transmedialisation" of editorial practices
