Our aim here is to characterize ant assemblages in response to cork oak stand exploitation. In grazed and tilled cork oak stands ant community shows an increase in Generalized Myrmicinae (Aphaenogaster spinosa and Messor spp.) if compared to stands, characterized by a lower human impact, in which arboreal ants are more abundant (Aphaenogaster subterranea, Crematogaster scutellaris)
