abstract:
The electro-optical properties of a novel alternated copolymer constituted by thiophene and 3-octylthiophene monomer are presented The comparison with a poly(3-octylthiophene) indicates that the copolymer has a higher conjugation path but a lower photo- and electro-luminescence efficiency. Luminescence quenching effects due to shorter interchain distances in the copolymer may possibly account for this behavior.
