Description of a new species of Cylindroniscus Arcangeli, 1929 (Isopoda: Oniscidea) from Brazil, with considerations on the family placement

The new species Cylindroniscus flaviae Campos-Filho, Araujo & Taiti is described from several caves in the Açungui karst area, Iporanga, state of São Paulo, Brazil. This discovery considerably enlarges the distribution of the genus, previously known from Cuba and Mexico. The genus Cylindroniscus is placed in the family Styloniscidae in consideration of the muscle disposition of the first pleopods
