abstract:
A strain of Aspergillus parasiticus was cultured in two different systems; in the first system there was a free exchange of air between the system and the surrounding environment and in the other system the volume of air was kept airtight in order to avoid a free exchange of air. The glucose consumption and aflatoxin production were measured in both systems; the CO2/O-2 rate and the energy expenditure were measured in the second system only.
