The volume is the result of a multidisciplinary project "Migrations & the Mediterranean. The Sardinia Observatory and its liquid borders", carried out in collaboration with the MIPAAF (now MASAF) and of which Alessandra Cioppi is the scientific director, whose objective was the creation of discussion tables on the topic of contemporary migration in Sardinia which would constitute a space for information, dialogue and discussion between the various agents working on migration issues: from universities to public institutions, from research bodies to bodies managing the migration system reception, from local authorities to third sector associations. A variety of speakers with whom we tried to harmonize scientific data, political aspects and practice, to contribute to the quality of work in the field. Starting from these assumptions, the Project has developed the need to add a practical and training phase to the theoretical phase, continuing with a natural didactic and scientific continuity thanks to which to offer the reception system in Sardinia the tools to implement good practices, more inclusive and more effective forms of integration. The volume brings together, almost in their entirety, the interventions proposed during the training days and perfectly represents the multidisciplinary approach that characterized the training course.o involve and enhance the experiences and skills already present in the reality of Sardinia, elected for this purpose as a privileged observatory, the objective of the training course was to provide a practical and at the same time rigorous approach to the management of the reception system, through the comparison and transmission of good practices between the various agents working on the topic of migration as well as the scientific in-depth analysis of the related social problems. The topics developed range from the analysis of the reception system in force in Italy, to the right to asylum, to the regulatory system, to the assistance systems, to the different methods and paths of integration, to social problems and political geography.
