On the European anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) off the southern Sicilian coasts. First results from an interdisciplinary study

First results from an European study project on the Engraulis encrasicolus (Osteichthyes, Clupeiformes) off the southern coasts of Sicily shows the high variability of this resource and the correlations between oceanographic features and the spawning strategy of the population.
