Abstract:
The present work describes a study on calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cement by using proton nuclear magnetic resonance. Set-retarding and set-accelerating agents were used in order to enhance differences in the performances of the cement used for the tests. The changes in the mobility of water during hydration of the cement were studied and were compared with results obtaine by X-ray diffraction analysis. The microstructural and mineralogical development of the hydrated sample were finally compared with the technical performances of a CSA-based mortar.
