Cucumber vein yellowing virus (Ipomovirus)

This standard, approved in September 2007, describes the official diagnostic protocol for Cucumber vein yellowing virus (CVYV) (Ipomovirus), categorized in the EPPO A2 list no. 316. Symptoms of CVYV infection, cytoplasmic inclusions, and sampling techniques are described. Identification is obtained by means of mechanical inoculation to cucumber plants, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and nucleic acid hybridization. Protocols are fully described in the Appendices. Flow diagram for the detection and identification of CVYV is included.
