The problem of source separation in astrophysical images

In this section, the problem of source separation from multichannel radiometric maps of astrophysical interest is introduced. After describing our approximated linear instantaneous mixture model, we formalize the separation problem and introduce a number of physically plausible prior models for the astrophysical sources and the instrumental noise.
