The potassium salt of the triphenylphosphine oxide adduct of bis(tetrachlorocatecholate)mangnnese(III) complex reacts with O-2 in the presence of K+-sequestering agents at room temperature in MeCN resulting in the formation of the corresponding Mn-IV-tris( catecholate) species.
