abstract:
The contribution analyzes the origins of divine will in Late Stoic terminology and Middle platonism and precisely focusses on Stoic re-interpretation of the notion of "demiurgic" will displayed by Plato in the Timaeus. This special notion, according to which the world is eternal not by itself but depending on divine will, because God desires only what is good, is bequeathed to Stoicism and philosophical culture of Early Empire.
