Modeling and design of low-PMD spun fiber

We discuss the polarization mode dispersion properties of spun, single-mode, randomly birefringent fibers. In particular, we consider the mean differential group delay, the statistical properties of correlation length of the signal state of polarization, and the influence of birefringence autocorrelation function.
