Visualization of Field Patterns in Surface Acoustic Wave Multistrip Structures

Detailed field patterns of the acoustic perturbation produced by the propagation of surface modes are evidentiated through a visualization technique employing a highly effective acoustooptical geometry of interaction. High contrast images are btained, with low noise levels, of track changing and compression of the acoustic energy in multistrip structures.
