Abstract:
The target of the QUITSAT pilot project, is to
integrate satellite, ground-based (in-situ and remote sensing)
measurements and model output in order to develop
algorithms and procedures for evaluation and prediction of
the air quality in Lombardia and Emilia-Romagna (Italy)
regions. Presented work describes two dedicated approaches
for comparison of tropospheric NO 2 vertical column in 0 รท 2
km layer. Some examples of ground-based DOAS (Differential
Optical Absorption Spectroscopy), OMI measurements and
Transport Chemical Aerosol Model (TCAM) data are
presented and discussed. The obtained results are encouraging
and demonstrate feasibility to provide regular information for
Air Quality (AQ) assessment in target areas.
