abstract:
The Bronze Age Nuragic culture, given the higher cost of imported commodities because of their transport through ship, tended to exploit local materials as much as possible. This is possible because of the wealth of mineral substances in the island, useful for a lot of technologies, even among the most evolved ones; as an example, it has been recently pointed out that some of the steatite for bronze casting moulds was not imported from well goodness knows what place in the Mediterranean basin, but exploited from local occurrences (Pretti et al., 2018). All the more reason for looking for by far more common materials for everyday home activities, such as bakery.
