abstract:
A series of 2-alkylthio-2,2-diaryl substituted acetic acids RPh(EtS)CCO2H (R = 2-, 3-, 4-FC6H4, 4-MeOC6H4) have been synthesized through a sequential metalation of diarylmethanes RCH2Ph with the superbasic mixts. butyllithium/diisopropylamine/potassium tert-butoxide (LIDAKOR).
