SVILUPPO DI UN DATABASE ECOTOSSICOLOGICO SULLE SOSTANZE CHIMICHE PERICOLOSE ALLA LUCE DEL REGOLAMENTO REACH

The REACH program on hazardous chemicals defined the new regulatory framework and procedures on the chemical risk management with several implications on socio-economic aspects, public health, worker protection and environment. One of the main goal of REACH is the enhancement of public access to information about chemicals and their fate. In Italy the Ministry of the Environment has financed a project to develop a database containing relevant information on chemicals of environmental concern. In this context, in line with the risk assessment procedures proposed by the EU legislation, an online dynamic database DESC (Database Ecotossicologico Sostanze Chimiche) has been developed (http://www.dsa.minambiente.it/SITODESC/)
