Abstract:
In this work some optical properties of two different High
Temperature Superconducting (HTSC) materials, in the
normal state, are investigated: Nd123 (highest Tc YBCO-like
superconductor) and Gd1212 (presenting Magnetic order and
Superconductivity coexistance in the same cell below Tc).
HTSC are very promising indeed for Photonics and
Metamaterials fabrication mainly for their interesting
properties in the THz range, due to the Superconducting (SC)
Gap. In the normal State a PseudoGap can be observed of the
same magnitude of the SC Gap. FTIR (Fourier Transform
InfraRed spectroscopy) analysis have shown an unexpected
very similar pseudogap for Nd123 and Gd1212 suggesting
that more attention should be devoted to this last material.
More investigation in the Nd123 and Gd1212
SuperConducting regime, as well as in the Gd1212 Magnetic
Ordered-non SuperConducting one are needed to confirm
these observations.
