abstract:
In the present study the geometric flexibility and the ability to compute realistic qualitative results in simulating viscous, incompressible flows
with immersed boundaries has been demonstrated.
The method is tested by computing a flow over a surface-mounted fence in a fully developed planar channel flow at low Reynolds number.
Under these circumstances, good agreement between experimental and numerical results is obtained. The eventual aim of this work is to study the transition of a confined, laminar flame, interacting with an obstacle, to a turbulent deflagration.
