A comparative analysis of structural and surface effects in the electrochemical corrosion of carbon
Academic Article
Publication Date:
1989
abstract:
Results of surface analysis of carbon blacks and their electrochemical corrosion behavior in H3PO4 are presented. The graphitic character and the population of oxygen-containing surface functional groups of different carbons have been found to be related to their corrosion rates. Evidence of the influence of both surface and structural effects in determining the reactivity of carbon is outlined
