Glass-ceramic sodium-potassium MICA and fluoroapatite films deposited on titanium for biomedical implants.

Abstract
Publication Date:
2017
abstract:
Biocompatibility of bio-inert materials can be improved by coating substrates with bioactive films. We have used Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) technique to deposit thin films of a biphasic target MICA/apatite on Silicon and Titanium substrates. Morphology, surface roughness and composition of films have been characterized, showing that PLD is a flexible technique to deposit films suitable for biomedical applications.
