Plutarch's Vita Alcibiadis id undoubtedly influenced by both the Socratic literature and the Stoic tradition. The paper analyzes Socratic and Stoic sources of this Life, particularly focusing on Plato's Symposium and Alcibiades I, Aeschines of Sphettos' and Antisthenes of Athens' dialogues, as well as the Stoic Cleanthes of Assos' writings.
