abstract:
The date palm is a main resource for the agriculture of Palestine; Jericho is a hotspot for date palm cultivation; the intensive cultivation faces the increasing problems of soil salinization and xeric conditions; the oasistic system should be reviewed for future cultivation models; future perspectives for the date production suggest to increase the resources use efficiency and the biodiversity within the palm plantations.
