Results about environmental researches carried out in the brackish lagoon of Oliveri-Tindari (Messina) are referred. Detailed morphometric and sedimentological features are given. Hydrological properties and inorganic micronutrients distribution were also examined. The lagoon morphology, undergoes continuous changes. At present the lagoonal system consistes of a creek and of several ponds. The older ponds (Lago Marinello, Lago Mergolo della Tonnara and Lago Verde), also examined in previous researches, show ecological conditions different from those of the more recent pools.
