Infrastrutture verdi e servizi eco-sistemici in area urbana: prospettive di ricerca per la progettazione ambientale

This article critically reviews the significance of green infrastructure for the reduction of climate change-related vulnerability. It does so by linking green infrastructures to ecosystem services and by analysing the degree of ecological functions of different urban green areas. The latter include man-made surfaces (such as rooftops and green facades), bare soils, and drosscapes. The study outlines potential research perspectives aimed at systematising environmental services through the breakdown, classification, and ranking of the environmental services provided in different urban areas, according to their former use, the redevelopment techniques and the vegetation employed in each project.
