abstract:
The most direct representation of the measurements provided by the Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI) is a set of Fourier components of the X-ray radiation sampled at discrete points of the spatial-frequency plane, the so called visibilities. Here we review methods for the reconstruction of X-ray and electron maps using RHESSI visibilities and show how the electron maps can be utilized to infer information about the physical properties of the acceleration region during flaring events.
