Regional personalized electrodes to select transcranial electric stimulation target: a computational model of intra-cranial electric field distributions

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2015
abstract:
Recently we developed a new procedure to personalize the electrode to selectively stimulate specific cortical regions by transcranial electric stimulations (tES) [Tecchio et al.,2013] and we showed that tES via this innovative personalized electrode shaped on individual brain MRI can relieve multiple sclerosis fatigue [Tecchio et al., 2014]. This study aims to assess by computational approach the distriution of the intra-cerebral electric field induced by tES through the personalized in comparison with a non-personalized electrode in two realistic human models.
