Respiration sensitivity to temperature of a maize crop in Southern Italy

Conference Poster
Publication Date:
2008
abstract:
Respiration is an important component of the carbon cycle and its sensitivity to temperature is crucial for modeling ecosystem response to global warming. Furthermore ecosystem respiration could be estimated from the net CO2 flux measured with the eddy covariance technique and the results obtained are subject to change in relation to different partitioning techniques. Four years of maize crop datasets from the Borgo Cioffi site were used to analyze the seasonal behavior of respiration sensitivity to temperature using both the Loyd & Taylor and the Q10 models applied to a sliding window of 15 days with a step of 5 days. The first results are presented.
