Abstract:
Ultrafast laser inscription has been used to inscribe an optical waveguide in ErYb-doped glass. We demonstrate that the irradiation does not degrade the 4I(13/2) lifetime of Er-ions embedded in the modified material. (C) 2008 Optical Society of America
